After receiving numerous requests for an “Amy’s bean burger” Amy’s mom, Rachel, asked our chefs to come up with not just any old black bean burger but one that was truly special. They did. Building on our basic veggie burger mix of organic grains, vegetables and mushrooms they added black beans, sweet corn and a perfect blend of chipotle, chili and other spices to create a firm-textured vegan veggie burger with the smoky, spicy flavor of old Mexico.

Ingredients

Organic Bulgur Wheat, Organic Mushrooms, Organic Black Beans, Organic Onions, Organic Tofu (filtered Water, Organic Soybeans, Magnesium Chloride), Organic Textured Soy Protein, Organic Oats, Organic Fire Roasted Sweet Potatoes, Organic Celery, Organic Carrots, Filtered Water, Organic Green Chiles, Organic Corn, Organic Tapioca Starch, Organic Tomato Purée, Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Potatoes, Organic Green Onions, Sea Salt, Organic High Oleic Safflower And/or Sunflower Oil, Organic Diced Tomatoes, Organic Garlic, Organic Bell Peppers, Organic Chipotle Pods, Organic Spices, Organic Cilantro, Organic Cornstarch, Organic Balsamic Vinegar (organic Wine Vinegar, Organic Grape Must), Organic Jalapeno Peppers.

Directions

Barbecue: Barbecue: Oil each side lightly before putting on the grill. Heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until heated throughout. Bake: Conventional or Toaster Oven: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Place patty on a baking sheet. Bake for 6-7 minutes. Flip. Bake for 6-7 more minutes. Let sit 1 minute. Serve. Microwave: Microwave Oven: Remove from overwrap and place one or more patties in a single layer on a microwave-safe plate. Microwave one patty for 1 minute and 40 seconds. Increase cooking time 50.60 seconds for each additional patty. Let sit 1 minute. Serve Stovetop: Heat in a lightly oiled skillet on medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until heated throughout. Directions: ovens may vary. Cook from frozen. These veggie burgers are fully prebaked. Please do not overcook. Overcooking will make them too dry.
